The Ministry of Human Development, Social Transformation and Poverty Alleviation advises the public that under the current regulations, daycares are permitted to operate; however, an amendment will be made to the current statutory instrument to include daycares in the list of businesses prohibited from operating under the current state of emergency. Therefore, daycares will remain closed until further notice.
While daycares will not be permitted to operate, babysitters will be allowed to work by going to a person’s home or caring for a child in their home.
As the country slowly begins to resume operations, the Ministry acknowledges the difficulty caused by this decision and asks the public for its continued understanding as these precautions are being taken in the best interest of children and communities during this global pandemic.
